12-1 Viking report. Really good afternoon!!

Went to church this morning then had some lunch in town after, came home and took off got on the water 1:30. I put in at the restaurant ramp. Dock is still in. Water was pretty clear but has a little green stain. Started on the rocks straight east of the ramp. I could see fish over there so through the Jerkbait. 2nd cast got one. Stayed there and caught a dozen small bass. Tried a jig and ned plus a blade but nothing. Moved south and had my side scan at 140ft. Saw some fish on the channels and around the brush. After a pass down close to the campground I turned around and fished back slowly ( north wind so that works better) caught a few as I was going north. I came to a hump by the channel swing and power poled down. ( I love the 10ft power poles! So much better than the 8’s) used my active target and caught more bass. Saw a bigger fish about 60ft in open water over the channel and cast the Jerkbait (mb 110jr) to it and made a few twitch’s and it came fast for it. Best one of the day! Nice 3lb…. Moved down past the swimming area to the main lake point on the west side.. lots of bait around the point and rock ref. Caught a dozen more little ones there with crappie mixed in. The sun was down now so motored back to the ramp and caught a few more by the rocks before loading up. The Jerkbait was the only thing that got bite today. Wt was 40-42 I Battled ice pretty bad on the rods/reels today but that’s winter fishing I guess. I really want to go to a different lake but pretty sure it would have ice at the boat ramp there, it’s pretty shallow and freeze fast there. Viking should be good next weekend still.

Thanks for the report. Our lakes up here have iced over now, so unless there's a big warming trend I'm done until next Spring.

All 5 working days this week are nasty cold at night so it will be questionable if things are open enough this Saturday. Looks like it gets nicer after that but the weather changes daily it seems. Lol

Hopefully you have good luck Jim. Looks like the wind is going to blowing a little bit Wednesday. Let us know how you do.

Good luck, if your still going out. Winds forecast 20mph to 40mph today in eastern NE!
I'm done for the year, getting a new 4 stroke installed. I would definitely go out if I could, gotta scratch that itch one more time before the ice sets in.

went down to missouri and water was 41 and yes strong winds. We managed 6 bass which I will take for December. Where are you getting your new motor at? Can you pm me for a ball park figure of what this ran as I’m thinking of doing this too?

Nice! If I can get a couple bites this late in the year I’m happy too.
