    Marine mechanic

Sorry... This is a little off topic, but I thought this was a good place to ask. I'm looking for a marine mechanic in the Conway area or somewhere close. I live in Clinton which is only about 45 minutes north of Conway, I'd like to avoid dragging my boat all the way to Little Rock. I have a 96 Basscat Pantera w/ 200 hp Merc. I just need the lower unit serviced and everything checked out before fishing season.

Surely there is a Merc mechanic in Conway?

Have a good one here in Bull Shoals but that as long a drive as Little Rock.

might check with that place on the east side of 65 just north of Conway around Pickles Gap, I've never been there but it seems like they're a merc dealer?

I got on the Merc website and ya, Pier 65 Marine is the place I was talking about and they are a Merc dealer. They have a website which is http://www.pier65marine.com if you want to try and contact them.

    Re: Marine mechanic (wagage)

Wagage, There is a mechanic that is living in the Mayflower area by the name of Ronnie Ferguson. He used to have Ferguson outboard near Dumas, AR and was a private investigator in Desha County. He has done lots of work for me and my fishing buddies, (Hated to see him move) and has done three power head rebuilds for me (not the same engine) and all have been excellent engines after his rebuild. He moved to Mayflower about 2 years ago and is on the Mayflower or Conway police department. He lives on lake Conway, had rented a small shop on the lake and was doing outboard repair about a year ago. I carried my boat to him then to have some repairs done. I have not had to go back to the mechanic in a while (praise God!) so I'm not sure if he still is doing outboard repair. I've lost his phone number, but I'm sure that you can get it if you call information for Mayflower. This guy really knew his business and was reasonable on his pricing. Hope this helps!

There is, I believe, a basscat dealer in Heber. If you'll get on the BCB web site they can get you there- also a tournament partner of mine is on the basscat promo team and "J's" marine is who he uses in Heber and is reportedly one of the best Merc techs around. Works on numerous Mr. Bass tournament pro's boats. This guy appears to be freaking awesome as he even makes house calls for my friend for this level of work. Really went out of his way to help get my friend's new p4 set up. Call him and tell him a friend of Adam's sent you to him- he'll undoubtedly handle it well-
