Tools needed to change plugs? 225 PRO XS. Dealer 100 hour service. How much?

Well I decided to take the cover off my 2006 225 PRO XS. WOW!! Nothing like my old EFI. What specific tools would a guy need to change the plugs himself. Looks like a real pain in the butt. If I decided to have the dealer go ahead and change plugs and give it a 100 hour service what would I expect to pay.

The boat has 140 hours on original plugs. I run all the fuel additives per Don's suggestion and Mercury's suggestions also. The boats has a very noticable miss when in gear now and I assume it is telling me it is time for plugs. Runs like a scalded dog other than that. What should I have them do at the service and what would need to be changed. Dont wont to be replacing stuff that is not needed.

    Thanks Rich

Re: Tools needed to change plugs? 225 PRO XS. Dealer 100 ho ... (06champ198)

    Tools needed to change plugs:

    -3/8" ratchet
    -3/8" Extensions (3" & 6")
    -5/8" Spark Plug Socket
-12" piece of fuel line (to thread the new plugs in with- prevents crossthreading)
-Anti-Sieze (to apply a small amount to the threads)
-Torque Wrench (torque plugs to 20 ft. lbs)

    Recommended for 100 hour Service:

    -Computer Diagnostic- check for faults
-Cylinder Misfire Test, Compression test, or Leakdown Test
-Test, Inspect, or Replace Thermostats (test CAN be done on CDS above)
    -Replace Spark Plugs
    -Replace Fuel Filter
-Inspect Belt, Tensioner, Compressor- grease tensioner pivot zerk
-Retorque mounting, jackplate, and steering hardware
-Grease all pivot point zerks on midsection
-Grease "balls" on outer trim rams
-Replace Water Pump (at least impeller and gaskets)
    -Change Gear Lubricant
-Check prop & hub, retorque prop nut
-Test run to confirm proper operation

Can't speak for the cost of these services in other shops..... here at our shop, you'd spend an average of $480.
