Bad trailer vibration on one side

I just made a 800 mile round trip to Chickamunga. One the way home trailer developed a bad vibration on one side. Checked all four wheels for heat and they were fine. When I got home, I found both tires on one side had a large flat spot. Break tire had a slick spot about 14 inch in center of tire and the front tire had a 8 inch slick spot. Could this have caused the vibration ? Secondly, what would have caused the flat spots ? The trailer is a 2018 Tracker and the tires have appx. 20,000 miles

original tires? the oem tires were low quality to start with. need 4 new balance tires likely! get the goodyear endurance tires, well worth the cost!!

Goodyear endurance is what I have been looking at. Just want to make sure it is a tire issue or if it is something else.

If you got 6 years and 20K miles out of a set of trailer tires, you definitely got your money’s worth. I’d put new tires on it and rock on.

I'd say the Brake axle brake locked up and then wore a flat spot, but not sure what work cause the other non-brake axle to do the same. Something stopped those wheels from turning thus the flat spots. Did you have something connecting those wheels together like a chain or wire ?? Either way, I'm pretty sure that was your problem.

Flat spots or bald spots develop as the tire starts to seperate. Has nothing to do with your brakes. Put some new tires on it and go fishing.

I dis a closer inspection today and noticed the brake tire has two different spots, besides the 14 inch spot there is appx 6 inch spot on another area of the tire.

Pretty common for calipers to lock up. If you haven’t been braking hard I would check or change them.

Check your Bearings too. They can lock up a wheel if they are going out.

bearings are fine too. Checked during last trip and no heat. Jacked trailer up and no extra play in wheels. Im going to go with new tires and a prayer that was the issue

In addition to caliper or tire issues your problem could be caused by a suspension issue, inadequate tire/ fender clearance or a combination of the two.

Flat spotted tires are generally a brake hanging up or releasing slowly, only takes a few seconds to happen, have seen it many times on semi trailers.

20k & 6 years is about the limit for any trailer tire.

UPDATE !!! Finally got my new tires, Put on Goodyear Endurance. Took down the road at different speeds up to 73 mph. Smooth, no vibration at all.
