    G Loomis ?

Looking at trying out some of their jig/worm rods. Are the Mossybacks or the IMX better rods? Price goes to the IMX however I have never fished either and don't know how sensitive one is versus the other. Can either compare to a Kistler Helium LTA or LTX II? Specifically looking at a IMX 843 and the BCR 853.

The IMX series are designed as "all purpose" rods whereas the Mossybacks are designed as technique specific rods. For example, the MBR 843 IMX makes a fine jig and worm rod, but very easily transitions into one of the best spinnerbait rods you can own. The Mossyback features an extra fast tip which lends itself more to jig/worm fishing - for which it was designed - it'll work for spinnerbaits, but not even close to as nicely as the MBR 843 IMX.

I would definitely go with the MBR 843 IMX over the Mossyback 853 - even if you want to use it for jigs and worms most often. If you were going to make the jump to the GLX, I'd go that direction for those techniques... Hope this helps

Buy an IMX MBR 843 and it'll probably turn into your favorite rod. Incredibly light, sensitive and versatile. Like BF said, you can do a little bit of everything on that rod.

Ditto with the only advantage going to Mossybacks being their "odd" lengths, with the IMX basically being available in 6', 6'6", 7", etc...plus the flippin 7'6" telescopic.

The MBR 843 is the classic measuring stick of a rod...783 if you are vertically challenged..
