    Chime walking

Hi guy's... i have a 2000 Blazer 210 with a 2009... 250 Optimax pro xs with a trophy plus 4 blade 26" pitch. It's set 1/2" below the pad and can only get it to 70mph and she starts chime walking BAD. Had a 250XB on her with a 27" pitch and ran in the upper 80's. The hole shot was bad with the 3 blade on the xb, so when i bought the new motor i went with the 4 blade. Hole shot is great now... but cant seem to drive through the chine walking. any sugestions??? Thanks!

You might want to try and post over on the Blazer board.

27" "what" ? Did you change your engine height ? Any other changes is the steering slack free? What was the lower unit on the other VS this gear case. Was there a torque tab on old lower? A lot of questions need more particulars

    +1

Would also be helpful to know what RPM's you're turning.... and what your water pressure is.

Just a forwarning.... you're probably going to be moving away from the 26 Trophy.

just curious... what prop would you suggest? I will let you know the water psi. and the rpm's this weekend. I'm going to try raising the motor up 1/2 " and see how it does.

It look like in your avitar that you had a Sprotsmater on the XB and I am assuming you have a Sportsmaster on the XS.

I would recommend looking closely at your engine height followed by making sure the engine is vertical and not slightly out of vertical.

You should get together with fishinfever. Dony is running the same boat as you and I think he likes the TXP's

Wiggle the motor side to side and see if there is any extra play. I know your old motor had solid mounts, I wonder if the pro xs has the rubber mounts instead of the solid.
