    Texas Rig: Your rod/reel/line setup

Let's hear your setup for Texas Rig - specify these:

    1) Rod length and power (manufacturer if you have specific preference)
    2) Reel model/manufacturer
    3) Line Type and Test (manufacturer if you have specific preference)

Re: Texas Rig: Your rod/reel/line setup (T-RIG)

I make a 7'10" or a 7' rod for this. I most often flip/pitch a texas rig on the CA Delta. I use a 7'10" medium heavy action Rainshadow blank for this with 15-20 lb Yozuri Hybrid on a Shimano Curado 100. I also make a 7' rod for this using a trimmed down version of the same blank, same setup.

I don't use a Texas Rig too much anymore, but when I do I use the same outfit I use for Slider Fishing. 6' Diawa Guido Hibdon "finesse" rod, with a BPS med sized spinning reel, and 10 lb test Excel.

Re: Texas Rig: Your rod/reel/line setup (T-RIG)

For plastics, I have 2 All Star Titanium med-hvy 6'6" AST786C rods paired up with a couple of Curado 100's on each, & spooled with 17 lb Original Stren green mono.

I also have an All Star Titanium AST927CX Hvy-Fast action (6'10") with a Curado 200 spooled with Power Pro 50 lb for pitching jigs.

Re: Texas Rig: Your rod/reel/line setup (Triton Marty)

I have two rods I use mainly for either casting plastics or casting jigs:

    plastics:
    G-Loomis BCR853 7'1" GLX MH
    Team Daiwa TD SOL
    Maxima Ultragreen 12lb.

    casting jigs:
    G-Loomis MBR843C 7' IMX MH
    Team Daiwa TD-X103H Air Metal
    Maxima Ultragreen 15lb.

Just got the TD-X Air Metal, can't comment much on it either. Looking forward to trying it out.
