mold question

HI guys. Im new to tackle making and recently purchased my first melting pot and 2 molds. I have a question when it comes to pouring jig heads. Do you spray anything in the mold before pouring the lead into it? I have a pot and 2 molds but no lead. Where’s a good place to get this cheap? I’ve read tire weights aren’t any good. Ill take any scraps you guys have....name your price

I "smoke" the mold. Hold each cavity over a wax candle for a few seconds until it turns black. Helps the lead release.

When I poured my own jigs, I used to heat my molds over a small bbq grill and right before I poured my lead I would spray Pam cooking spray in the opening and I used alot. Nerver had any problems as long as the mold stayed on the grill while pouring.
