I found an Old ShipWreck with my Side Imaging (Side Scan)

Who still uses their side scan fairly regularly? I had it on my old boat, then when I got my fiberglass Ranger it didn't come with it. I didn't replace it for several years. I finally got it back on my boat I got in the fall. Man, I didn't realize how much I missed it until I put back on this boat. I was scouting around Lake Erie and came across a couple old wrecks on the bottom that I never knew were there. I had my ice fishing camera with me, and I was able to drop that down as well and get a decent look at it with the fish around it. I have to say it was my highlight of fishing year so far. I think I enjoy finding something new to fish as much as catching a big one sometimes. This spot did hold good smallmouth too.

I did not see any walleye this time on the wreck. They tend to roam a lot of area. I'm sure they come in for a feeding from time to time.

Thanks guys. The only thing I can use some help with is what the heck kind of little fish were those at the end of the video? They look like some kind of some small fry or something. Waves were picking up so it was harder to keep the camera steady with that much cord out.

There was a book published for divers about 12-15 years ago or so about the ship wrecks on Erie. The book also provided GPS coordinates. You should check to see if what you found was known wreck or whether you found a new one.

Not exactly sure, but they look like goby to me.

Being off the bottom and suspending, we can be sure they are not gobies.

Walleye or salmon fry? Seem bulbous or thick on the bottom…and would make sense to me those would be there…

They have no swim bladder and have no buoyancy control. When they stop swimming, they sink.
