    Marine Stabil vs. Quickleen

Whats is the difference? Also should I run both, or will the Stabil work for both the ethanol and the carbon buildup?
    Thanks

Re: Marine Stabil vs. Quickleen (520RangerMan)

Marine Stabil is for stabilizing the gas to keep it from breaking down, Quickleen is for keeping the carbon build up off the pistons. 2 completely different animals. You need to run both unless you burn all your gas and add new to your tanks in a 2 week period, then you wouldn't need the Marine Stabil. Quickleen you will need in every gallon of gas that goes in your boat.

All I have been using is Seafoam. Is that ok, or should I do something different?

    Re: (ep72)

As an owner of a potentially expensive replacement motor;Pro XB 250 EFI Merc, I use a combination of Stabil,Quickleen, and Startron for the purpose(s) of fuel octane stabilization, carbon maintenance/reduction, and the dreaded ethanol phase separation. Adds additional cost to the enjoyment of boating but is needed just the same, IMHO. Can never be a maintenance freak these days. LOL.

I tried Seafoam last year and I appeared to have more "soot" on my propeller than when I used Quickleen. I switched back to Quickleen this year.

You SHOULD be using Quickleen in EVERY TANK OF FUEL.

You CAN use Seafoam "in addition to" Quickleen.... but NOT "in place of" Quickleen.
