LOW OIL MESSAGE ON SC1000 SPEED GAUGE

    S/N in signature.

Started my new 250HP 4S motor for the 1st time today and the SPEED SC1000 gauge displayed "low OIL" and "low fuel" after about 2 minutes. There's plenty of oil in engine and no alarms. (I am low on fuel. I assume that message is correct.)

I did a master reset on the speed gauge only. It didn't help.

Is this "LOW OIL" getting it's input data from the fuel paddle wheel harness?

I have one of the fuel paddle wheel harness leads going to the fuel tank and the other fuel wires (fuel 2) not connected to anything .....is this what's causing the "LOW OIL" to be displayed?

Is this a gauge calibration issue?

    See pics below.

These are my gauges. The one on the left displays the LOW OIL.

Everything is wired as pictured, but one of the two tank leads isn't needed so it's disconnected.

    Thanks!!

I think I need to do a master reset on BOTH the speed and tach then calibrate that empty oil tank out of the gauge using the calibration on the TACH gauge. Right?

    1. You can't use Tank-2 in this application.

    2. Make CERTAIN, without ANY DOUBT that you do NOT have the black w/orange stripe wire attached to the Fuel-1 (Fuel Tank) and sender. This is especially critical with an aluminum tank, but since ALL permanent tanks require 12V Ground Bonding, you would have a ground loop between the 12V and the 5V Ground Bridge in the PCM. Severe PCM Damage can result.

Once you match that, go into Cal settings and set up TANK-1.

    Set Tank-2 to "Not Installed".

Should end your problem if you followed directions here.
