    What Brand For New Charger

I have an older Minnkota battery charger that seems to be having issues. I'm looking to buy a new 10 Amp/3-Bank charger - what brand would you recommend? The Minnkota has performed well for over 10 years but I'm just curious if there is something better out there.

The MinnKota Precisions are top notch
the NOCOs are good are a close second on that price range

DualPro great just more $ but USA built and are repairable

I'll look you up with this purchase.

One question - my current Minnkota charger gets warm when it is charging, not "hot" but fairly warm, is this normal or a sign of trouble?

Go MK. NOCO CS warranty policy sucks. I lived it. FInally bought me a MK, sent the NOCO back for replacement and sold it.

I've always used Dual Pro's and the only issue I've had, happened recently. The plastic case that enclosed the charger practically crumbled to pieces (its a 2012 model). Charger still works but I'm a little concerned about leaving the whole thing exposed in the rear compartment so I purchased a newer identical model used locally for $200.

MK and Noco seem to be the popular brands here the past few years. Having had both, I personally prefer, and currently use, MK. Dual Pro looks to be less popular than it used to be, perhaps because of the charging issues with certain AGMs reported here on BBC.

I had a Guest (Now Marinco) for years in my last boat. Very good unit and I never had an issue with it in the 13 years I ran the boat. They're definitely worth a look.

I also had a Guest on my first boat. It crapped out in the 13th month. I wrote them a letter asking if they would consider splitting its repair or replacement cost since it was only a month past the warranty. They sent me a brand new one with a note enclosed that said, "Please accept this replacement with our compliments." True story.

I had one bank fail, simply emailed and told them and sent them my amazon receipt and they said send it in. I got a new one back in 3 days total time.

I had a brand new NOCO charger given to me as a Christmas gift. It's a single bank 10 amp charger. It was dead on arrival. I had to pay shipping for a DOA product. That has always left a sour taste in my mouth about their product and the way they handle DOA products.

Currently have an Ionic charger. Seems to be OK. Sucks only 1 year warranty though. I'll personally go with MK PCL for my next 1.

I've loved my Minn Kota's. I don't have anything to compare it to. They have worked great for me, so I never considered another charger. Went from a 3 bank to a 4 bank when updating last boat to 36V, and then transferred it to the new boat when I got it and sold the old boat with the NOCO that came with the new one.

Dad had 1 on his old boat for 10-12 years before selling the boat and then his new boat came with 1 and we have never had a failure.

I ditched my MK for a Dual Pro. Same price, but lithium profile included with it. Honestly I think it charges my lithiums better.

My buddy has a Minn Kota Precision and I have to replace it every 2 years. Installing the THIRD one this weekend. He calls Minn Kota, they send him one for free and I put it in.

My BPS 3 bank is 8 years old and zero issues. It's plugged in 365 days a year and always has been. I will never buy a MK charger
