I was on the water yesterday and had a weird thing happen. I have had my 1995 champion with a 225 mariner EFI for a few months now and it has been overall running very well. I have ran treatment through the fuel lines, replaced a bad section of fuel line from the bulb to the engine. I was on plane running about half throttle when I hit some boat waves and my motor bogged when hitting each wave. The boat cut through them fine, but either from having the bow raised or lowering into the waves, the engine did not like it. When i came through the waves, it was back to running normal. My first thought is something fuel related, but would like some opinions or if anyone has experienced this.
Not sure if the waves caused the fuel to move about in a weird way, but I would think the engine has plenty of fuel in it to not effect it cutting through a few waves. Could this be something else other than fuel related? Spark plugs wiggling, or something bouncing under the cowling to cause it to bog out when hitting bumps?
Thoughts or recommendations?
Thanks!
