    Trim rheostat

Yesterday I started having an issue/non issue. When I trim the motor while running on pad, instead of the gauge stopping at the half way point like it always has, when it just about reaching fully trim, the needle in the gauge will go all the way up as I’ve reach full trim and tilt. When I trim down it'll take a second or two then the gauge will come back in the normal range and follow. Is this a trim rheostat/potentiometer/sensor problem?
