Chickamauga Update

I just returned from my first trip to Chick this week. Spent Tuesday-Thursday AM there. Great Trip! I fished Tuesday in the slight rain with excellent results. Morning: caught 9 in 2.5 hours (broke off two). All were caught in the grass in 1-2' of water on Texas rig. No huge fish with biggest being ~18 inches. Afternoon: caught 6 and a 5 pound catfish. Wed was slightly slower, but similar. Tried fishing wood/banks with slow result.

Stayed at Island Cove Marina in their motel. Older, but clean motel. Refrigerator....no microwave. I did rent a slip which allowed me to get on/off the water quickly. This was definitely worth the cost. I recommend staying there....

The lake was very uncrowded Tue/Wed. I generally only saw ~5 boats all day. Definitely more traffic on Thursday with the upcoming tournament this weekend.

I'll have to make this trip again......lots of different types of fishing on this lake.
