    High Idle 60 HP

2004 PT 175 w/ 2014 60 4S CT. Motor looked brand new and older gentleman claimed soon after he bought it, got sick and parked it in the barn. I installed a VVM on it and read 12.9 hrs.
I completed the following maintenance on it:
    (100 hr kit)
    Changed the oil and filter
    Changed thermostat
    Changed both cartridge fuel filters
Drained stale gas and replaced with fresh 87 non ethanol (w/cocktail)
    Changed LU gear oil
    Changed plugs
    Changed impeller

I run her yesterday for about 2 hrs and ran good except for a high idle with occasional vibration at idle till throttle applied.
The idle was running 850 -1000
Is there a way to test the IA solenoid or any other suggestions?

    Thanks

850-1000 rpm is above spec but not unusual on that motor.
IAC is not working at that rpm because it's not needed.
problem is usually in the throttle body, be sure throttle plate is completely closing, use your hand to push it closed.

I just run her in the tub and idle is 850-900 in neutral and 780-820 in fwd.
    Should I be concerned?

I removed the throttle cable from the actuator and it is bottomed out on and off.

I don't usually go after them until I see 1000 rpm in neutral.
your probably going to find that idle rpm eventually does climb to 1000 rpm.

Really need to be able to monitor TPS position, Spark Advance "called for" and IAC Duty Cycle (and of course test the IAC) to determine best course of action.

A sticking IAC can actually cause a high idle (though it's normally causing a low one).

Also check the throttle plate to make sure nothing is lodged in it (dirty, leaf, tie-wrap, etc).
