    VX20 Locker lids coming off!

My VX20 is just over 3 years old. In the past few months the rivets have failed on 3 locker lids and the lids came off. The only things holding them in place were the latches. The first was fixed under warranty. The other 2 failed this weekend at a tourney and the boat just came off warranty. It is extremely disappointing and unacceptable to have this happen on a high dollar boat. I never had this happen on previous Rangers or a Legend. I've contacted Vexus and hope they will take care of it but even then it will cost $80 of diesel and a couple weeks of downtime to take it to my dealer.

Have any of you had issues with this happening?

If it’s any consolation my buddy’s 2020 Ranger is doing the same thing.

Can't say that helps. This is inexcusable on a high end boat.

I have had a VX20 for 4 years and never had a lid come off. Are the rivets pulling thru ?

They seem to just be breaking. Hard to tell why.
It's at the dealer now being fixed.

I understand your pain but I would be very surprise if Vexus did not warranty that. It's my experience with Vexus that they will take of their customers in or out of warranty. I have a 2020 VX20 (that's a mouthful) and they have worked with me on a couple of issues. They stand behind their boats completely.

They have had warranty claims on the welds on their aluminum hulls. From what I have heard, it is a mixed bag as to who and what they covered under warranty. Not a good sign

It’s not alot of fun I can tell you. Once I received a new hull I sold mine. Customer service was good but the product not so much.

They took care of it under warranty. Of course I lost the boat for 10 days and spent about $80 on diesel going back and forth.

Vexus took care of it even though it was out of warranty...that's fantastic! I wouldn't be complaining over 10 days lost and $80 in fuel. JMO

Of course they should take care of it under warranty. But lids shouldn’t be breaking off in less than 3 years on a 100k+ boat.

2 weeks after getting hatches repaired for failing rivets…the rivets gave out on my livewell lid yesterday. Now I have to make another trip back to the dealer and get in line for repairs. Very frustrating.

Sounds like you may have had a bad batch of rivets.

Wonder if they can use bolts and nylocks instead of rivets.

Why wouldn’t they cover it? Of course they should (and did). My point is lids shouldn’t be breaking off on a high end boat less than 3 years old. This will be the 4th trip to the shop for this problem. That adds up to a lot of time and money.

Are you opening them like the HULK SMASH or something? They have shocks on them as well that should keep things from overextending the hinges and breaking the glass or riveting. We have had 8 boats including a VX and never had that issue. Something is weird.
