Lift assist upgraded gas spring power is 1500 N , just bought one and it is perfect power for livescanner and megalive
How do you swap out the stock pull handle and upgrade to a better handle. The stainless collar inside the bracket seems tricky to remove. Anyone swapped out pull handles yet?
Did you have any luck getting that stainless collar out to replace the stock handle ?

My Ulterra Quest 36V over corrects constantly on spot lock. I've adjusted scales with -02 giving the best results but still far from ideal. I'm thinking 36 volts is just too much for my smallish aluminum rig. I'm going to remove one battery and see if that helps.
Thoughts?

Nice to have that option. A short light boat with a good sized OB is a candidate to be overpowered by spot lock. I am curious if you have used spotlock before. With little or no wind is the toughest condition for spot lock to keep from appearing overpowering. Those 2 factors add up to the possibility. However, Spotlock does not use max power except in extreemly windy conditions. changing to 24 volts may not make a huge difference. Let us know.

Yes, I've used it on my boat with an updated Ulterra which was followed by an Ultrex. Both were 24v. Spot lot worked well on both.
I understand to not engage spot lock until boat is almost or completely stopped and I know calm or no winds also causes the motor to constantly correct.
I've also noticed the Ulterra Quest will make several rapid, short, micro type adjustments. My two previous motors did not do this.

I have a Riptide Instinct Quest. Using 3 Duracell AGM for a 36V operation. Also I have a Foot Pedal control connected to the unit.
Yesterday, I noticed on my remote, in the triangle that shows the prop rotation, there was a dull red dot in the lower left corner. What does that red dot indicate? Thank you.

I just skimmed the remote manual. The only “RED” reference is for record itrack. Page 10 in the manual. Link to manual: https://johnsonoutdoors.widen.net/co...-2397110ra.pdf

I currently have a 60" Ulterra on my Ranger 621, looking to upgrade to the Ulterra Quest. I've read that the new motor housing on the Ulterra Quest is a bit larger, making the effective length of the trolling motor shorter when it is fully deployed. Any experience with this, and if so, would you recommend sticking with the 60" version for the Ulterra Quest or increasing length to the 72" version?
I didn't have the previous generation Ulterra, but the 60" Ulterra Quest is plenty long for my tritoon pontoon. I probably only have it trimmed about 2/3 of the way down to have it safely below the middle toon and staying in the water.
If in doubt, go with the longer shaft. I don't know that there is any disadvantage in doing that... The shaft seems pretty indestructible to me.

The disadvantage might be how high the head is sticking up beyond the base for casting purposes. probably not an issue trolling from a toon. Call Minn Kota and ask on the shaft length vs the Quest. Bob
