    Home grown plastics

I made my own worm mold out of resin.I tryed using it as a one part mold but poured to much or not enough plastic. So I made a two part mold. When I pour the plastic in it will not make it to the tail of the worm.(The tail curls up)I drilled a hole at the tip of the tail hoping to let some air out,did not help.I'm melting down old worms and chunks in microwave. Will the liquid plastic work better for this?

    Re: Home grown plastics (KACHOW)

you may already have a thermometer to check the plastic temp. but if you don't get one , heat your plastic to 315 to 340 and try another pour, the liquid plastic has to be heated also so it won't help you except it does make remelts much easier to heat without scorching or burning . good luck and be careful

get a infrared thermometer, they work much better and faster

I'll try it.Got the great idea I would heat my mold a little.Broke it shortly after that.Do not use a drill to put your screws in.Or pay attention to what I'm doing.
