    Pouring plastics

Tried melting down some old plastic to pour into a couple new resin molds I made. Used a microwave and pyrex, and when i took the plastic out it was kinda smoking not real bad. It poured well but smelled like chit! Does new plastic that i have on order do the same thing? Is it harmful and should I be pouring outside? Thanks.

I ALWAYS ADD SOME NEW PLASTIC TO MY REMELTS, IT HELPS DISTRIBUTE THE HEAT AND KEEP IT FROM SCORCHING LIKE THAT AND YES YOU SHOULD HAVE GOOD VENTILATION OR WEAR A RESPIRATOR

It depends on what type of plastic you were re-melting. Some just are no good for re-melts. And yes your new plastic will do the same thing if you burn it.......

    You had it to hot....
Go in short 30 second intervals stirring between. Don't try to
heat the plastic all at once.
