Greeting to all. It's been a while since I've been here, and I'm happy to see the forum is still around. Unfortunately I have a rather urgent prayer request.
My wife's younger (she's about 45) daughter, my stepdaughter was shot a few days ago by a madman (we won't go into possible motives, they're not really important anyway) who apparently lived next door to her. She managed to get back into the house where she called 911. The usual emergency responders, responderd, the perp was captured, and Melissa was transported to a hospital, where she is still alive, but in a medically induced coma. She's lost several feet of colon and intestines and no doubt will never be the same again. Of course she's not out of the woods yet even.
So please, lift her up in your prayers if you could. Put her on your prayer lists at church. Melissa is a good kid. She did time in prision years back, and will freely admit to that. She told me once, "I didn't do what they convicted me of, but I'd gotten away with so much crap I should have gone to jail for I couldn't grip." She got her GED while in "the joint" as she laughlingly calls it, and got her nursing degree also. She has never been in trouble since. Her mother and I are so proud of her. I don't have any daghters of my own, so God sent her and her sister to me to make up for it. I got another son in the deal too. He's no slouch either. Army officer, chaplin, and Lutheran minister.
Thanks to everyone, and God bless you all.
Your's in Christ Jesus,
Wayne.
Oh, and pray for the poor man who did the shooting. May he realize what he's done, and seek forgiveness from Jesus, repent and turn away from his previous life, and be washed in the precious blood of Jesus. Amen.
