    FAULT 52

A friend of mine has Twin ~'09 250 ETECs.
He's getting an intermittent Fault 52 w/ an alarm.
I checked it w/ the diagnostic software and everything seems fine w/o the code.
Could not catch it w/ the code present.
Is it correct to assume this is strictly an electrical problem as it's tripping an open circuit condition on the injector, I can't see how a fuel related problem would trip this code. As a test we disconnected the electrical connector from the injector and after a few seconds the alarm sounded, engine not running.

    Engines run great otherwise.

Code 52 is the cylinder number 2 injector. I would be following the ground circuit
51-56 Fuel injector circuit OPEN. Last digit indicates affected cylinder. Check injector resistance—2 to 3 Ω @ 72°F (22°C). Perform fuel
    system electrical tests.

Thanks for the reply, diagnostic software indicated, 2.8 ohms. Is this an accurate reading or should we manually measure it?
    High pressure pump >30PSI.
Is the ground wire in series w/ each injector?

    Ev diag readings are accurate.
I cannot speak on the ground path. Need to inspect a wire diagram which I do not have.
