    Stupid question number 2

Do you need to thin out the clear coat before spraying it? It seems a little thick to spray as is.

what clearcoat? Many brush on epoxy for a good one coat finish.

I haven't been able to find an epoxy yet so I am using a generic clear coat from Janns Netcraft for now.

Keith - I don't know much about that type of clearcoat. Is it waterproof? I would be afraid to shoot it through my gun to be honest. It probably is laquer based and if you don't do a real good job of clearing out your gun, that could be a problem. If possible, I would try to brush it on. JMHO.

I guess I will just use a brush until I can find an epoxy. Thanks.

I found some "ready to use" air brush paint. Do you think it is ok to shoot without thinning? It's from Createx.

I would think you can always try the "ready to use" as is. If it clogs your gun, or you are not happy with how it flows, you can always thin it out. The guys who have doing this a while should be around soon to give you a more definitive answer.

Re: Stupid question number 2 (Moose)

The createx is what I use. I have found from trial and error that some colors you can shoot strait but most need to be thinned some. In my experiences (read as failed attempts) most colors will not shoot very well without thinning and really piss you off

And you can find Devcon 2 ton at Lowes and HD almost everyday. That is where I buy mine. But most of the time they are out of 20min so I just deal with the 5. Works ok for now.

Re: Stupid question number 2 (RoadrashPaul)

After checking several stores for the Devcon epoxy, I was told that they no longer ship it to California so I either need to order it online or find another type of clear coat.
