    My old man was a car salesman back in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s hew tell you not to worry about the asking price. Worry about what the deal cost you.

    I bought my 2020 1880 in late October of 2019 and started negotiating in late September. Early October the dealership called me with an offer on my boat trade and the website cost for the 1880. I told the guy that come the end of the month if you need to make your numbers call me with a better offer on my boat. Magically, the last week of October I got an offer on my trade boat in the neighborhood of two thousand more than the original offer.

    Did they discount the price of the new boat? No, they found wiggle room to sweeten the deal in my favor.
