retro rod

i've had this rod for 20yrs+ it's a berkley series one blank. i kept the fighting butt and used the orginal for grip rof the new rear grip. the origanal guides and reel seat were cut off and trashed the guides were fixed a few tines as well as the reel seat. the reel seat was cracked so bad i'm sure it would explode soon so the rod was shelved until last week, when the blank was sanded and fitted with a new forcast reel seat and a new set of micro guides and what a better reel to set it off with the new reborn lews speed spool.





this build was fun and very inexpensive too.

Nice! How do you like that reel? I picked up one the other day and could not believe how smooth it was compared to the Curado's and such that I also picked up.

the reel is more than i expected i haven't fished it yet but for $89 it just might be the best under $100 reel ever
