    massive lead chunk

So I was able to get my hands on a massive lead brick...well it was more like 2 ft x 8 in x 8 in...it was a little over a 100lbs ...and I still have many more to go...but the difficult task at hand was how do I cut the chunk of lead into manageable sizes for a 10lb lee melter? I was able to figure it out, well my two friends figured out how to 'cut' it into manageable size...

anyone have any clue of how we did it without melting, cutting or wasting any of the lead? if you think you got the answer, let me know...i'll let ya'll know how I did it...it was an extremely easy way with little effort and I want to share it with ya'll incase you guys run into any huge pieces of lead like I got

When I get into lead that size i use our press at work and press it down to about a 1/4" thick sheet and cut it with tin snips.
I know not everyone has access to a large press (750 ton) so I would be interested into how you did it.

I think a band saw will work.

Hmmm. Thats how I had mine cut up. I think blade speed and teeth quantity matters.

Can lay a maul on top of it and hit it with a sledge hammer a few times. Will slice right through it. Have done it several times.

never thought of the ax or maul...anyways we used a hurst o-cutter...thanks to a local volunteer fire department...rescue equipment not only saves lives, but helps dummies out like me too

guys please be careful using a saw or anything that would put fine particles of lead in the air, you don't want to be breathing in any lead particles.
