    spinning/spin jig?

What is the difference between spinning blanks and spin jig blanks? From looking at the actions of both it seems that models labeled "spinning" are lighter trout and panfish blanks and those called "spin jig" are the more traditional bass style spinning blanks, but that's just a guess. Perhaps some of you gurus can clear it up for me. Thanks.

You're right. A spin jig is often the same as the lighter mag bass blanks. They normally feature a faster tip and more backbone.

standard spinning blanks are typically just made with a little slower action to aid in casting than a spin jig. Still might be rated a "fast" action, just not as fast.
