You guys like the Rainshadow Rx8 + blanks or the high end St. Croix sticks better? Any other suggestions and why? why is the big question. I am fairly new to rod building (6 now) but have yet to find a confidence blank company for me.

The RX8+ are made for Batson by St Croix. I believe are SCIV material (memory may be foggy on that part).
Look at the prices and you decide which is the better deal. Buying the blank from St Croix who made it, or buying it from the guys who had St Croix make it for them.
Good point! I did not know that. Lamiglass is really popular here in the NW whats your opinion compared to St. Croix?
Lamiglas solved that one for you...![]()
They discontinued the XMG Mag Bass blanks. So depending on what you are wanting to do, they don't have anything that compares to the St Croix SCVs. I think the XMG popping and spin rods are still being made, but they are definitely not jig sticks, etc.
I'm trying to think of what else is out there that is "high end" now. There's CTS but getting one is like pulling teeth...
I have switched from GLX to the Phenix blanks with GREAT results. My customers and I are very happy with how sensitive, light and durable they are. All at about 1/2 the cost of GLX.
