    E-Tex

....Hey Guyz....Since my stash of D2T is almost gone I was thinking of trying E-Tex light. I can get it in Micheals @ 50% off, it comes in a two part kit. Question is first of all how does it compare to D2T as far as self leveling goes and mostly can I reuse the D2T two part syringe to mix like the Devcon??..I know we have been over this B4 but ever since Woodstock my memorys not what it used to be ..<>rob<>

One big difference is that E Tex takes longer to cure but also has a longer work time. I can coat as many as 15 baits on noe mixing if I havent been drinking.

I have the same results as Eric, I will add that for me the mix is more critical than devcon to get right. Keep your devcon tubes clean them out with some den. alcohol and pour the etex in and the mix is perfect, just make sure to stir well.....

....Cool......now here's a stupid question ....How would one get the E-tex from the bottle into the syringe ..... ......If you pour it in, as soon as you replace the plunger the mix would squirt out ...Right???....Would I draw it up into the syringe or what

Pull the plunger out, cap the tip. fill the syringe with product. Put the plunger in just a little and turn it over. Let the air go to the tip. Then push out the air. Works great.

What I do is drill a hole in the lid of the bottle that is the same size as the syringe nozzle. Then all I have to do is turn the bottle upside down and I can measure out the exact amount I need.

True, but then you have to do that everytime you mix. I fill mine up 3/4 or more and they are ready to squirt out for many mix's.

@ Zbass, glad to help. That idea isn't mine though; I got it from someone over at TU.

@ 21XDC, you do have to measure every time you mix epoxy but that really isn't an issue for me.

You can also buy pumps that dispense 1/2 cc per pump. I bought a couple for using with my ETEX off one of the rod building sites and they have worked out great.
You can also buy bottle cap inserts and syringes that work great. This is what I am using for rod building. You'l need to buy the large size inserts.
