The little johns paint up just as easy as those blanks do. IMO, if you put a $20 paint job on a $1.50 bait......then you still have a $1.50 bait.....but of course to each his own
where do you get the ITo vision 110 blanks I seen them but cant remember now??

Ill give ya a tip w the little johns. They break a lot, one of my favorite baits but I have a lot of problems with the cracking lips falling off ect. As long as you don't modify them spro will happily send replacements if you send the broke ones back. That's why I don't paint them. I was just looking for some cheap alternatives.
Btw to the vision kockoffs float or sp
just put in a order with bustin bass will post results soon

Have to agree with mercury97 and KY21, most of the knock off baits are not worth a good set of hooks.
A paint job is only worth what someone else will pay for it. Those cheap blanks are great to practice on until you have the confidence to try and paint a real $20 bait and if you are lucky, one might happen to run well.![]()
Luck is about all you have going for you on most of the knock off baits I have seen. After cutting apart a whole lot of knock off baits it is rare to find even one that is made right. Mismatched halves, enough internal casting flashing to alter the rattle weights, weights and rattles that do not return to the same position from cast to cast, leakage and weight balls that do not stay in their track (weight transfer type baits). On one bait I found plastic shavings (drill bit) used for rattles. If you want to find out why a bait won't work, look inside.
If a picture is worth, you know the rest. Here is a Megabass Griffon Knock off.
Pic 1 It looks like the real thing from the outside.
Pic 2 The weight in the front is contained in the front section but the weight in the center should move back and forth in a channel but it will not stay in the channel which allows imbalance between casts.
Pic 3 The ball in this pic is to the rear, as it would be on the cast but the ball is so small that it makes little difference plus it can fall out of the track and go off to the side or to the bottom. Try to tune this puppy. PVC pipe is cheaper to practice on and if you screw up just wipe it off and start over.
