Does anyone here make custom spinnerbait molds????

I want to copy an old brush hog head spinnerbait. Does anyone know someone who can make a set OR is there some way I haven't thought of, to make my own?

    thanks!

If you have an exact copy of what you want you could make a mold from JB weld.
    1. make small .75"- 1" tall box
    2. coat with release agent (cooking oil, silicone, ect. ect)
    3. fill box with JB weld
    4. let JBW set up to a firm state
    5. coat part with release agent and press half the part into the JBW and some locating pins
    6. let JBW completely setup
    7. Make another box just big enough so the first half of the mold fits and again .75"- 1" tall
    8. fill 2nd box with JBW
    9. let JBW firm up
    10. coat first half of mold with a releasing agent and press into the second half of the mold

I have one spinnerbait mold I did this way.

I am sure there are other materials you could use also....I thought I heard somebody mention bondo molds before, it would still be the same process.

Ok so you've poured a few spinnerbaits with this, how well has it held up to the heat of the lead?? I know JB weld sets up pretty hard I'm just wondering how well it would hold up to that kind heat.

Havent tried the jb but that is a good idea, bondo or high temp rtv also works well, with the rtv it will pretty much replicate even the small details

So far it has been good. I only made this mold for personal use and I should have stated that. I have made about 70-100 SB's with it. I am not sure how long it will hold up and next time I decide to make one I will try bondo or RTV, to see how they hold up.

One more thing to mention is this mold has no detail at all. It is simply the right size and shape SB head.
