Was watching the KY Arkansas game earlier. And ever time the camera was on the Arkansas coack he was giving the ref some grief. Why does a ref stay close enough to that coach for that to happen? I would have slapped that coach with a T foul.

I think they are obligated to listen. All coaches do it.
Talking to the refs so you get calls later it’s part of the game
Maybe but the Arkansas coach was relentless. That would get old Real quick. A warning then T foul on the bench.
Remember Bobby Knight? It ain't nothing new.
He did get a technical over the no walk call. It’s just part of the game. If a coach takes it to far or comes out on the floor they get a T. Otherwise they are just trying to get some call to go their way. Most of the time it works. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.
all of em yack at the refs…………..watch Michigan State and you’ll see the biggest whining begging crybaby of em all. Constantly working the refs.
I like the guy , but.

Missouri coach doesn't talk to them much. Last I checked they were winless in the SEC.
He's mad cause he ain't going to the big dance. March madness is just around the corner...my favorite sporting event of all time!
Dallas Cowboys…..Eventual Super Bowl Champions
Arkansas hasn't been the same since Nolan Richardson.
They do it because it’s currently allowed and it’s effective. On the women’s side the most “in your face”, demonstrative coach is LSU’s Mulkey. She spends more time standing on court than most of her players.
BUT it works. Her team shoots 8+ more free throws than any of the other NCAA top teams. That includes South Carolina who is the BEST team with bigger players who get hacked a lot.
The referee yelling works very well. 8 extra free throws on average is a HUGE number. Now think of the calls that are swayed that don’t involve foul shots. It’s a way for the coach to change the game.
