    Jackplate size question 6in vs 8in vs 10in etc.

    I am looking to purchase a hydraulic jack plate for my 2012 Nitro 290 sport and I am not sure what size to go with. This will be my first jackplate on a boat so I知 not too familiar on different sizes, performance, etc.

    I知 mainly getting the jackplate because I boat on a lot of shallow lakes. But since I知 getting one I might as well try to maximize boat speed and performance.

    what is the difference between all the jackplate sizes and does anyone have a recommendation on what size to get for my 290 sport? Thanks!

    Nitros answer will be no jack plate I'm guessing. Not many put a JP on the sport boats. 6 inches it all I would go with.
