When I use the trim my smart craft gauge blinks the trim setting and fluctuates between two ro three numbers for a few seconds than finally stops and goes back to the right setting?? I reclaibrated the trim settinga and it stops for a few minutes and them starts when I use the trim again???

Likely a faulty trim sensor. Which part number sensor are you using?

Whatever was installed at the factory. Looked at it and couldn't see a number..

The 250 ProXS did NOT come from the factory with a Digital Trim Sender (it would have been added after the engine was removed from the crate).
There are two possible digital senders- one of which provides (in my opinion), much more accurate information and results (especially in the lower range of trim motion).

fMaybe I don'tknow what I am looking at then. This is on the left side of the top pivot bracket and has wires that run into the cowling. How would I know which it is or am I looking at the wrong thing..

That would be the trim sensor. It should have three wires if you're using it on Smartcraft System).
Regardless of which one it is... it is obviously failed. If your engine is under warranty (and the sensor was purchased with the engine), it should be covered (and you can have it replaced as a warranty item).
