Looking for the best adhesive for weed guards? Anyone have a fav? Thanks
I just use 2 part epoxy. Tried super glue, but it "wicks" up into the fibers and makes them too stiff.
I agree, the super glue is too thin. Thanks I will give it a try![]()
I will try that too, seems the problem is usually with the smaller jigs like 1/4 oz arkie style because the cavity for the guard is really shallow. Thanks for the advice.![]()
superglue gel formula does not wick either- works for me![]()
I have been using locktite gel and it seems to work well except on those 1/4 oz heads. Thanks
+1 on the 2 part epoxy.. I use the 2 hr stuff and a little blue painters tape to hold it in place until it dries... the 5 minute epoxy dries to quick to get more than 5 or 6 jigs done before you have to mix another batch, and i think when it dries it is too brittle... same with the super glues.. they are too brittle when dried...
Why dont you just mold them in when you pour them?
Thats how I do all my jig heads, and I powder paint all that I make.

Do you use the protective sleeve for the guard when you pour and cure them?
I do not use the sleeves on my jigs when I cure them.
Paul
if you bake your jigs to powder coat them, you will have to sleeve the guard..
I have found it is easier to epoxy them in after the powder coat... even with the sleeve i manage to screw up a few when baking them...
I think I will use epoxy after painting it makes tying the skirt easier. Thanks everyone for the input. I will post the results this week.![]()
