    Painted Blades

I painted some hammered willow leaf blades awhile back. I taped off the outside, sprayed 2 coats of white appliance paint and let it dry a couple of days. The first time out, the white paint peeled off. Is there a better way of doing this? Where can I find chartreuse paint as well?

Did you scuff ( sand ) the blades before you painted them??

...A coat of Devcon 2 Ton epoxy would also help....You can get some chartreuse enamel testors model paint at Wally-Land

When painting blades, Most times the paint and clear adds enough weight to make for a poor spinning blade. You might try spike it lure/blade dip/dye to achive something close to your desire.

The 3 major tacklemaking companies sell painted blades? I have powder painted blades in the past that did not chip but you screw up a few until you get the timing right.

I didn't sand or scuff the blades before painting. I'll definately try that.

I guess I wasn't clear in what I'm trying to do. I'm just trying to paint the inside of the blade white or chart. The outside will remain silver, gold, copper....

I keep a metal fingernail file in the bait room to rough up baits...paint lasts much much longer.
probably better ways but works okay for 2-3 trips at least...maybe sand paper is good too.

As posted above powder paint works great, but it's difficult to do. It's something i've been playing with and had pretty good results.
