Question Setup Thoughts - Tracker 190 TX | Prop, Jackplate, Transom Wedges?

First - I understand a Tracker is not a "performance hull", I get it. That said, I want to ensure I get all I can out of it!

    My Setup

    • 2020 Tracker 190 TX
    • 2020 Mercury ProXS 115 - 4-Stroke
    • Quicksilver Q4 (Merc. Spitfire) 21P 4-blade SS prop
      • Props I have ran: 21P 3-blade SS, 19P 4-blade Al

    • 4" Manual adjustable jackplate
    • It's fairly lightly loaded, has a heavy Garmin Force on the bow, however.

    Running Specs:
    • WOT at full trim: 5,700rpm @ 47mph (Vessel View RPM and GPS Speed)
    • Max RPM for this engine is 6,300rpm

Prop Experience: The boat runs really well with the Quicksilver Q4 prop. It runs -hard- up to the trim limiter and I feel like I'm hitting a wall. I have tried a 19P prop and lost 4mph and ran up to 6,400rpm. I don't think that's what I need. The 3-blade 21P SS prop ran slightly faster in slight chop but handled quite poorly. I prefer the 4-blade.

Jack Plate Experience: The top end does not seem to respond much to motor height. I seem to get in the 46-47mph range regardless if I am all the way down on the jackplate or 1.5" up. I'm basically getting the same speed but more or less rooster tail.

Next Steps: Given the lack of response by the jack plate adjustment, I feel like adding transom wedges (2° or 5°?) is my best next step. The added angle should get me some more bow lift and the boat may respond better to jackplate adjustments when getting proper trim.

Cant help you a bit with your boat , but I used a 1' wedge on an 84 bass hawk. It put the prop more under the transom and it came out of the hole much faster, and I did have a little more top end. Handled great. Wish I would have kept that boat.
