    2022 TRX20 250 PROXS - Pad to Prop Height???

I have a ‘22 20TRX Patriot with a 250HP Pro XS. It came with a manual jack plate. I have read some places that you can adjust your Pad to Prop height to help with he chime walk. I have no idea what prop is on mine………it is whatever the dealer fit it with. Any suggestion on Pad to Prop measurements that might help with he walking?

There should be some stamping on prop to indicate brand, model, diameter and pitch.

This information along with size ( setback) of your jackplate, will help us give good advice on engine height.

Frequently raising engine height will reduce tendency for chine ( not chime ) walk.

A good place to start would be 3 1/2" below pad. Raise prop 1/4" at a time until prop slips ( cavitates ) then drop jackplate 1/4".

It is imperative that you monitor your water pressure each time you raise jackplate and immediately lower it if water pressure drops about 20 psi.

You did not mention your previous experience driving bass boats but unless they ran more than 55-60 mph you will have a learning curve learning to drive without chine walk on your current boat.

Thanks for the feedback. My last boat was a Ranger 520VX so it didn't walk at all. I've been driving through the walk but would like to get it dialed in so the walking is as little as possible.

I have the same boat. 24 Fury with Hydraulic Jack plate. I pretty much run it at 3". Very rarely move it. 5900 RPM's around 72 - 74mph Depending on where I am.

Thanks for all the info and videos. Greatly appreciated. My boat is in storage but when I ride out to check on it I will verify which prop I have.
