Question Cobra Viper Battery Wiring Question

I am continuing my restoration of a Cobra 2003 201D.

    Here is my puzzle.

I my stern bat compartment are current 3 trays for. ( 1-12 volt starting/house battery and 2-trolling batteries in series . . 24 volts)

The starting battery is currently installed and sitting on the Port Side of the compartment.

On the starboard side are 2 trays for the 12v trolling batteries.

I can not find any Cobra (Viper) documentation anywhere !

My question is . . . . coming thru the wall (that separates the bat compartment from the live wells) in front of the 2 trays (trolling batteries) are 2 sets of pos/neg cables with large standard battery hook up ends. Why 2 sets instead of one set ?

Also mounted thru the rear wall are 2 resettable circuit bakers. One for each set ?

It appears the 2 trolling batteries are each attached to an individual pair of cables plus circuit braker. However when I opened the bat compartment for the first time only one
trolling battery remained and had the usual cross over cable hanging . . . . like the previous owner had the batteries wired together in series.

    Thanks for the help . . .

    Confused (as usual) Jerry

Boat was probably rigged with or available with a 12/24 trolling motor when new.

Ok, so hook each battery separately to one of the hookups and then check total voltage at the bow where the Minn Kota plugs in ?

No way to know how it was wired on a previously owned boat. Most of the time there would have been a jumper in the connector at the bow to get 24V. What size are the wires to the bow and what TM do you have?

Marinco plug, bow plug, female, typically has a jumper to combine the two 12 volts for 24 output. Hook both the batteries up and check voltage at that plug.

My Viper Coral (fish and ski version of the cobra) is wired exactly like KSViper said. The 2 12v lines are combined to 24 at the plug.

That's how my bilge compartment looks like. Starboard side is the starting battery and Port side has the 2 TM batteries and the breaker panels for them.
