Some tire shops offer to rebuild them. Discount Tire offered it to me before, like $15 per tire or something.

If me and if possible I would just have them replaced with regular stems. Don't see them as a necessity but rather a nice to have. I check my tires a couple times a year though to make sure they are good on pressure.

If I could figure out how to turn the TPMS system off on my 2010 f150 I would do it in a heart beat, but I haven't found anyway around the system without affecting something else. My truck is due for new tires soon, so I am going to bite the bullet and have the tire shop replace them when the install the new tires. To me it is a waste of $250, but I hate that i have to hit my reset button every time I start my truck.

On some vehicles the TPMS will throw a check engine light and if that is the case REMOTE START function usually doesn't work.
