    Do you have interference issues?

Just curious what percentage of us have unresolved interference issues with any of our Humminbird transducers?

last trip out was the first time I've fished deep since last winter- I've made several changes since then--updates, one new control head and re-routed cables from the trolling mtr bracket to everything in a wrap with the steering cables from foot pedal.
I now have interference and cross talk at anything over 20 ft. Going back down to where boat is soon and will check out the simple things.

I have had interference on my 858cHD Down Image. I've mounted the provided transducer on the barrel of the trolling motor. When pressing trolling motor activation switch there is interference occurs. I've tried wrapping barrel of Minn Kota trolling motor no positive results. I made sure the wiring to the Humminbird 858cHD DownImage unit is all running down one side of the boat to the power and all the wiring to the trolling motor is routed down the other side of the boat. What else to do?

zero, if you're limiting the interference to the transducer.

I'm gunna be working on mine for the next few months. I do have a new transducer for my SI and a new one for my from DI and a newer M 360.
Ultrex 112 but the older model without link.
    Running a 10 DI + G3N at the front.
7 chirp GPS and a 12 CHIRP GPS SI G2N at the helm. I am sending the G2N for repair.
I will update with what I hope will finally fix it.

Jim feel you pain with the interference. I had done everything I could think of with limited success. I had just learned to live with-it. Then read your post and called Humminbird who sent me a transducer and it was like getting a new Humminbird 858c DI unit. HB customer service what can you say. The tech agent told me when I went to the lake to check if the interference had ended call them and the agent there would instruct me in setting up my fish finder unit. Well all is good

    That's good to hear!

So we are sitting close to 50% with issues. I understand many of the issues may be user/install problems but many are not. I wish Humminbird would spend a little more time on making these units more user friendly to eliminate interference than shoving networking apps on us. I don't need a touch screen unit that links to my phone when I have spent a lot of time and money on this M360 and can't see anything when I use the trolling motor.

"Interference" has been an issue since the first transducer was attached to a trolling motor, and even then RFI can be generated by any motor (livewell pump, bilge pump, trim pump, and trolling motor). There is no way to know what frequency a motor will be broadcasting to prevent it from affecting the frequency/s that a sonar unit uses. The brand of trolling motor and the brand of sonar unit makes no difference--any combination can have it. If it was possible to completely prevent it, it would have been applied over 40 years ago.

this poll is not accurate to say 50% because several of us had interference caused by last update but new transducer resolved it. Better option would be how many had it but no longer do after new transducer

Guess I interpreted the question wrong. In most cases the transducer doesn't create the interference unless there is an internal failure. The interference is usually being transferred from another source such as the TM, battery charger, wiring, etc.
