I have considered trying the narrower version. But I have the full size one and hate it used it a couple trips and it’s been in the closet. It’s ridiculously wide and if you ever kneel down on the front deck and that stupid thing turns a little and you catch it in the back you get the urge to let it go for a swim.
I’ve been looking myself. I ran without a seat for 2 years then this year used one again and I went from putting the boat on the trailer at 12-1 to being able to fish all day. I’ve been looking for a good seat also.

If you have really short legs like I do that third leg can make a huge difference. I don't put much pressure on my leaner but it's enough to keep me steady. I'm only 41 btw. I guess if I fished out of a more stable boat it would be different. Didn't need a seat up front in my first boat (Charger 195vf) but that was one of the most stable boats ever. Too bad things happened that caused it to be totaled by insurance.

Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. Just smile and walk away.
The pommel seat has a coupe of different sizes. The one I have, the Redman, is the widest I believe. I tried to straddle it and it was uncomfortable. I'm 5'11" but thanks to my Gaelic ancestors my inseam is only 30", so someone a little longer legged might be okay with it. I can sit or lean on mine just fine. The grey color seat is an inch or two narrower and may be more comfortable to straddle. Check the website for real specs, the link is up closer to the top of this thread.
Don't worry Ma'am....
I'm only here for the Bass.
