Switching out my lvs 32 for a 34 Which software update I need ?
I can find the unload page which updates the my unit 1022 but not one specific for the lvs 34 transducer
Just upload the latest and the unit figures it out ?

If you use the Active Captain app it’ll automatically determine which version that you need.

I just got an LVS34, but when I plug it in, it gives a "transducer not connected" message. Would this be a software update issue?
Are the lights on the black box lit up showing that you have power to the unit?
Mine will show that if I don't have the switch turned on that sends power to the unit.

Yes. It gives the message when I turn on the livescope. If I unplug the LVS34 while on, it says nothing, but when I plug the LVS34 back in, it gives the "transducer not connected" message, which is strange. Why does it get that message when I plug it in, and not vice-versa?
Somehow, it seems like a software glitch, but the unit says it has the latest updates. Unless someone knows a trick, I'm going to contact Garmin soon.

I just figured it out.
I have a 93SV Plus, and it does not support the LVS34 transducer. So I will either have to move up to a UHV or go back to the LVS32.
Thought I would share that with anyone else who has this issue.
Strange that it will support the 32 and not the 34. Just more $$$.

Garmin stopped including Echomap Plus units in their updates a few years ago. The last software update for Echomap Plus units is 13.40. The software for supporting the LVS34 was considerably after that. That is one important reason why Echomap Plus units don’t support the LVS34.
Sorry that it was such a hassle for you though.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
For me to use the LVS34 I would need to upgrade units. Would you recommend the UHV2 93SV or the 106SV Ultra? Any reasons for one or the other?
I’d go with the 106 Ultra. AFAIK you can still get them at Bass Pro or Cabelas for $1000.
bigger screen, faster processor, better cradle.
The first inclination is to recommend the 106sv Ultra that you can get for $1000 (the one with the GT54 transducer included). But there is also something to be said for the UHD2 93sv. The UHD2 is smaller, but it is the latest generation while the 106sv Ultra is the previous generation. What does that mean in concrete terms?
1) UHD2 includes the latest Navionics+ mapping. Those older Ultras for $1000 have the older LakeVu mapping.
2) UHD2 has an improved user interface (menu layout, etc...).
3) UHD2 appears to have improved processing power compared to the original UHD units. How much this is an improvement over the Ultra is hard to say, though. Ultra units had better processing power than the original UHD units, which , for example, allows maps to scroll/move more smoothly and rapidly. However, that gap in performance between the old Ultra and the new UHD2 units may have gone away or the UHD2 may now surpass the old Ultra units in processing power (I don't have a point of comparison, myself).
4) While the old Ultra units still have better resolution than the UHD2 units, the gap has narrowed. (Old UHD was 800x480, UHD2 is 1024x600, Ultra is 1280x800).
5) UHD2 units have wireless networking for non-Livescope applications. This is a BIG deal for units with only one network port; you can network units together and still have Livescope plugged in directly. So units can share (non-Livescope) sonar, mapping, waypoints, etc...
So if you are looking to upgrade AND you use side imaging a lot in addition to Livescope, the 93sv UHD2 is sort of attractive. For $1200 (retail) you get the latest 9" Garmin sonar unit with the latest mapping, Garmin's best side imaging transducer, and wireless networking. For $1000 (on sale) you get the older generation 10" Garmin with an older generation side-imaging transducer and older mapping. I'd still jump at the Echomap Ultra 106sv on sale for $1000, but recognize that it will be superseded by the next generation Ultra 2 versions soon (months?).
Hope that helps provide some context!
