I'll be there next week for NFR, always worry about this in Vegas or any big city. I announce the rodeo in Mobile at their fair and 2 of the last 3 years they've had an active shooter while I was working. Being the center of attention with a microphone dang sure eats at a guy just trying to do his job while a shooting is across the fairgrounds.

Yea that is a shame about all the shootings and people killed up there. Obviously their gun control laws ain’t working. Criminals do Not care about gun laws.

I agree. This was Memphis news recently:

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A rash of violence stretching from Cordova to South Memphis in the last 72 hours has left at least 11 people shot, five of them killed.
The latest numbers from Memphis Police show a 44% increase in the number of murders compared to this time last year and a 38% increase in the number of homicides.
The city has logged 315 murders and 368 homicides so far. That’s compared to 218 murders and 266 homicides the same time in 2022. The city has already set a new homicide record this year.

Because it's easier to elevate the level of sensationalism and hysteria when more of the narrative criteria boxes are checked.

It’s time someone just said STOP!

Has anyone just said please stop errantly shooting for publicity. It’s time this was publicly recognized by those that have the medias attention and Just Stop becomes the new mantra. Those of us older grew up in a time that we all carried rifles in our back windows, including on school campuses. Hunting before class was common where we live. It was simpler time, though we all had access to do what these people are doing today.

I’m sure there are dozens of contrary opinions, though what we are doing now is not working to stop this unnecessary violence.
