    ELECTROFISHING!

And btw, when is electrofishing going to be made legal? It's just another tool. Still gotta scoop em up.

Same goes for chumming and live bait, multiple lines, big motor trolling, and weighted trebles for bedding fish.
These are all just other tools! You STILL have to get them to the boat and in the box!

The name of the game is 5 by 3 by any mean$ necessary.

No offense but I didn’t say they didn’t have any. I said that’s two states out of many that have no such rules or that aren’t enforced because they aren’t rules focused on black bass

They don’t even go to Cali anymore so it’s kind of moot. I agree with mark it’s a dumb rule for bass anyway. When you foul hook a bass on a jerkbait, it was attacking your lure. You got him to react, I could give a crap less if he has every hook in his mouth and I’m thankful my state doesn’t have antiquated rules for salmon that make me throw back bass lol

There has to be an end to this at some point. The cost of that many units and the batteries, etc. necessary to support them is simply out of reach to the average person. Not to mention the amount of room you need for all the mounts, wires, black boxes, etc. I could see a future where the manufacturers develop things to the point that you have one giant screen attached to multiple transducers and devices and could view them on some sort of multi-split-screen. I wouldn't even want all the hardware they are putting on some of the boats today.

It's all GAME fish regulations, not any single species, with the EXCEPTION of rough fish, non GAME fish.

Well, if you go with Mark's generalization SNAGGING bass with a jerkbait while using FFS is a thing, just like ripping a multi hook spoon through a school of bass, or ripping a blade bait around pilions in tidal water during the winter!

MANY MAJOR bass tournaments in CA!

Again way more states that have "must be hooked in the mouth" than do not, might want to check your own state's regulations.

    EXACTLY!
Why should any non pro care how a touring Pro rigs his boat?

It’s not uncommon these days to see guys with more money invested in the electronics on their bow than they have in the entire boat behind it.
My son and I saw a “heavily used” older 17’ Xpress last week. 3 - Garmin 12” graphs on a homemade 3’ steel pedestal (looked like a fence post) and a Garmin Force TM on the front. Behind that was a tin with torn carpet, faded paint, and a beat up 75 Yamaha OB. My son fishes SW pretty much all the time these days so doesn’t see a lot of multi-graph bassboat/crappie setups. He said, “Now there’s a man that has his priorities straight“.

None of the states around me have that regulation as I fish tournaments in all of them lol
And actually yes some of those regulations were made with specific species in mind. Because they are actually vulnerable. But I’m not gonna change your mind. Hopefully we can one day have it where only fish hooked in the top of the mouth count. Throw those fish back that have it in the bottom lip I say. Just if it saves one fishes life

I'm not against anyone using every tool available to try and win a big tournament but I just couldn't stand all of the clutter on the bow.

Dumbass rule unless you’re sight fishing. I’d like to see a list of states that have just for Curiosity sake.

This set up sounds crazy and cant wait to see what it looks like.

4 and half hours? Damn I struggle to make it past 30 min or so on most podcasts... I couldn't imagine 4.5 hours.

Got a timestamp on when they are talking about it by chance?

Not a dumbass rule according to FFS haters, as Mark suggested snagging bass with a jerkbait while using FFS.

I don't care either way if it was specific or not. Why is it illegal to keep a bass not hooked in the mouth while site fishing?
Since everyone says FFS is just like sight fishing are bass caught on multi hook lures NOT hooked in the mouth legal while using FFS?

Give me a general area of where you fish tournaments and I'll do the leg work to look up the specific regulation for "not hooked in the mouth".

I think it’s great! Excellent salesmanship. You know some guys are going to toss $20K on the bow to clean up on the local club trail to win AOY and the West Podunk Bassmaster ‘classic’.

Yeah, their $, their choice. But it’s still laughable.

it’s illegal to keep a bass while sight fishing outside the mouth because it is vulnerable. It’s not intent on taking a lure because it is trying to spawn. The rule is to keep people from jabbing a sitting 5lber with a weight and treble like good old Mike Long. Just like the rules with salmon in the north west. They are vulnerable for a certain portion of the year when they run.
I never said FFS was sight fishing because the field of view on FFS isn’t a laser beam but a cone of vision. You could be feet away from your target. I have and use FFS lol
Dude give it a rest lol I know the laws in my state and the surrounding ones as well as all of the tournament directors for BASS and MLF in the divisions I fish in. They only have a rule for bedding sight fish end of story.

The crazy thing is I was watching a BPT replay from a year or two ago and Wheeler is running 6 graphs in it. Nary a peep about it though.
