Taken a shot here….lookin a 20” or so factory CZ Match heavy contour barrel. Wanted to keep this gun all factory but CZ is making so much stuff for Ukraine right now I can’t get a barrel. May have to go to Lilja for one of theirs.

Those 450 series rifle flat out shoot great. I do not have any trigger time with the 457 but the 452 and 455 are outstanding.

I was just watching a video about working on a CZ last night. Am thinking about adding one to my collection as ive wanted a good rimfire rifle
We shoot a lot of long range 700 yrds to 1500 yrds so we’re decent shooters. We also shoot alot of rimfires….Vudoos, CZs, Anshutz, etc. These CZs with with the match chambers and barrels will shoot right there with basically everything else. Just gotta find what ammo your combo wants. Custom rimfire build I’d go Desert Precision…period.

Just got to take my first shots with my CZ457 today. VERY impressed. ITs not the MTR but in a bit ill probably pull the barrel and get a reamer for whatever brand I decide.
It makes me want to check out other CZ rifles as this one to me is up to a very high standard.
I loved my cz in 204

Their centerfire rifles were outstanding. I am not a fan of their new full size bolt gun as it is push feed. The 550 and 527 were outstanding values. The 550 gave you an improved mauser CRF action. Good bluing, god walnut, set trigger. Worksmanship better than most $1500+ rifles for ~$600.
I am not too happy with the direction of their product lines but their classics are outstanding.
Debating myself on a 457, at least a varmint or AT 1. I have 6 cz rimfires already but none with a heavy barrel. I would opt for the Lilja as it will not be that much more expensive than an MTR barrel, looks like a couple hundred.

Mines shoots good groups and will reach out to 300-400 with the factory heavy contour barrel. I was looking for a little more accuracy, consistency, and longer range consistency. My Lilja Barrel is on order, and I should receive it before the end of the year. Side note…. been talking to Kenny at Desert Precision about the possibility of a custom rimfire chassis build. I know there is a lot of guys doing this type of work, but he makes you feel like you’re the only customer he has….

I have a couple of CZ 457, A .22WMR and a .17HMR, the .17 has never been fired, the .WMR is dialed in pretty nicely, both are wearing Leupold VX Freedom 3-9 x40.
Thought about picking up a .22LR just to complete the set, but rarely shoot LR anymore.
Barrel is here … will report when I install and do some testing.

Curious about something. So my 457 has the .17 heavy varmit installed. I will be getting a .22 LR barrel with match chamber etc. However for the time being I have a 24" (American) .22LR barrel I could use. Can these even be used on a stock designed for a heavy varmit barrel. I havent tried but I guess I Cant see why not. The taper of the stock will be off but it shouldnt be touching the barrel anyways if im thinking correctly. It would just look dumb ??????
I have not had a chance to install. I will be putting it in the freezer tomorrow to try to get it installed this Saturday. Hopefully get some shots through it Saturday, Sunday or Monday. I have high hopes…. we will see. Will report shortly.
