    2d sonar not reading

I have 2 new to me 12 live units and I cannot get a read on the 2d sonar. The downscan and sidescan works fine but nothing on the sonar. Am I missing something or is something wrong?

External transducer flipped up or no 2-D transducer at all? More information would be helpful. Are you getting anything at all or just a blank screen?

Yup, as csurp said we need more info to be helpful. What transducers are on the boat and where are they mounted? Are your 2 units connected by an ethernet cable? When you hit "Pages" and then press the Sonar icon in the center area what does your sonar screen image look like?

It comes up and says source AI2n1SS.
there is also a 16 live at the bow and all units are linked.
There is a transducer on the transom that is a bout 6 inches long and 2 inches wide.
when I go to sonar the image look has no bottom reading. I tried a few settings but nothing changed.
The boat is a 2022 and I believe it was rigged late 2021 or early 2022.
It is from an MLF pro so I would think it was all good when he was running it but not sure if I am doing something wrong or the transducer or unit is not right.
I have active target on the bow unit and it works fine.
Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
I am going to try to post a few pics

AI 2-in-1 does not have 2D. You’d need the 3-in-1 which also has the 2D element, or a separate 2D ducer. I run the HD 2-in-1 and ran the AI 2-in-1 prior with an Airmar TM150M for my 2D source.

Look on the back of the unit. Does both Sonar and Structure ports have transducers connected? Second thing, when you select 2D open the menu and under source select This Unit.

If all else fails go to Pages, Settings, Sonar and make sure Channel 1 is turned on. Scroll down to installation and be sure there is a transducer selected for Channel 1.

If it was a pro's boat and was rigged with a 2in1 (SideScan and DownScan, the long transducer on the transom), then it probably has a shoot through the hull transducer in the sump of your boat for 2D sonar. You likely do not have that cable hooked up to the blue port on your console (or you don't have Channel 1 turned on in your sonar settings).

You need to find that transducer cable and connect it to the blue sonar port on your console unit.

Assuming you have a Shoot thru transducer and it connected to a unit, Have you looked at the source on a sonar page and selected it may say PD-WBL or SHoot thru depending on setup name.

thx for all your help. I may have found something in the settings and now seem to have a read as it sits in the shop.
I am going to get it on the water this week and see what I got now.
I had older humminbird before this boat and these units are smarter than I am LOL
It appears that I have 3 or 4 transducers and 3 units linked so I need to be schooled on that setup.

The above video shows an older Live Sight transducer on my trolling motor which I no longer use. It is plugged into the blue port which makes it Channel 1; Active Target replaced this transducer, and uses an ethernet port instead of Channel 1, so now I have both ethernet ports in use and nothing plugged into my blue port on my bow unit.
