My Forward Facing Sonar Experience - Fail
If you can't laugh at yourself... I went fishing yesterday for the first time in months. I have a Lv34 on a Summit Trolling Motor Mount that I have used probably 6 times so not a lot of experience. Probably 3 trips I used the perspective mode and 3 on in forward mode. I decided to use the forward mode for this trip. I dropped the trolling motor and scanned some laydowns off to the port side in about 4 feet of water and everything looked normal. I decided to troll forward and noticed that everything was moving away from me. I thought that is strange! I pulled up the trolling motor and realized that the last time I used the perspective mode I inadvertently rotated the Summit Mount and rotated it to the rear so I had a rear facing sonar. Laughed and fixed it! I wonder if there will be a debate on rear facing sonar on a future podcast
BTW - I have yet to catch a fish that I have seen on the Live Scope but admittedly I am fishing shallow water and still learning.

Rear facing sonar.......Would that be considered coangler mode?.....Asking for a friend.
-
Rear facing, good for tracking downrigger balls while trolling!
-
Good..... I thought I was the only one who did that.

Gonna put a paint dot for the proper position.

Only for Co's.

I noticed it when the water got deeper and dropped off when looking towards the bank?
