the check valve is in the bulb I believe-- have you updated the fuel hose and bulb to newer alcohol resistance hose? might have a hose split and sucking air also

My guess is if the primer bulb will not pump up like it should then you have a defective primer bulbe or you are leaking air into the fuel line.
thanks guys, ive replace fuel line from tank to the motor, and yes i replaced bulb PAID $38 FOR IT. can pump bulb up but takes a lot to do so. soon as i quit pumping imediately lose prime
