Thats the problem sometimes they just bite the feathers, thats why i use the sure sets. Hooks almost every fish

I also tie my own, I use shorter feathers. I like my bait to look a lil' shorter.

I use saddle hackle or neck hackle. on ewg gamakatsu hooks... Or owner.

Very nice work. I really like the sure set hooks as well. I bought some to replace the oem hooks on several cranks. I fished Norman for the NC rally and primarily used a crank with sureset hooks. I think I lost one fish out of about 20 or so (if that one was a fish and not a stump) I think it's more difficult for them to throw the bait than with a regular hook.

BTW, they were all spots and those things can fight !
